Introducing small business owners to their next star employee

Canon were launching a new range of multi-function printers targeted at small businesses, and wanted a cross-channel campaign that would cut through.


Insight

For a small business, being able to reliably print proposals, presentations and leaflets without stress and on time can make their printers just as important as their employees.


Idea

We filmed four small businesses owners talking about the qualities of their star employee, and the value they add to their business, before revealing that each star employee is, in fact, a Canon printer.


Output

All of the competition was talking about speeds and feeds, so we gave printers names and personalities – giving Canon that all-important standout.


We delivered a full campaign toolkit, including press ads, sales materials, a brochure, videos and a direct-mailed video pack which included CVs for all the "star employees" and a USB stick with all the publicity materials.
